Sand Tarts are a regional cookie enjoyed by the Pennsylvania Dutch, Mennonite, & Amish during Christmastime. These almond cookies are known for their thin, crisp texture, and butter forward flavor. Their origin is unclear, but they have been a perennial favorite for the last 150+ years. Our recipe has been handed down to us from Ryan & Eric Berley’s mother.
