America's Oldest Continuous Confectionery
Tour behind-the-scenes at the oldest continuously-run confectionery in America most Fridays at 5:30pm and Saturdays at 2:00p. After checking in at the register inside Shane, tours begin outside, in front of the shop at 110 Market St., Phila., PA 19106.
We welcome the public into our 150 year old building, where we sample our chocolate and confectionery craft while exploring our historic shop, kitchens, and Chocolate Works production spaces. This tour has something for everyone, and can be described as “historic house tour meets Willy Wonka!”
Learn about the antique equipment and recipes still in use today, while admiring the building's architecture, decorative arts, and businesses, and immersing yourself in early candy culture and craft chocolate making today. 45 mins. - 1 hr. in length. Samples included.

One of our missions as a historic site is to introduce visitors to history through the irresistible lens of chocolate and confections. The world’s relationship with cacao and sugar traverses a long and winding history, trekking through science, trade, medicine, and industry on the way.

Please be advised that our tour traverses a narrow and steep staircase, and will walk through a working kitchen with large machinery. This tour requires a minimum of two, maximum of thirteen guests to run. Tour tickets are refundable up to 72 hours in advance of the program. Tour recommended for ages 10+ due to the style and length of programing, which focuses strongly on historical subject matter, and takes place in a working kitchen with heavy machinery.
